‘I Am Soldier’ EP: Songs from the feature film – The Lowriders

Created from songs written for the feature film ‘I Am Soldier’, the EP of the same name is the latest release from Essex four piece The Lowriders. Their pressing indie-rock sound, driven by rebounding guitars and chant like shouted vocals, seems a perfect fit for a movie that is apparently based on the hardships of an SAS training camp.

The Lowriders band picThe three main tracks (there is also a remix of the title song) offer different takes on the echoing guitar effects that the band have adopted as their sound. It makes them sound like a cross between U2 and Kasabian – rock from the Brit tradition.

And having already gained acclaim from their debut release ‘Fury’ (it was this debut that convinced the ‘I Am Soldier’ director to get them on board for the film), this new EP is likely to enhance their reputation.
